I like beautytoptips as it gives interesting little articles to read about hair and skin mostly.

I tend to surf the net relentlessly for other stuff. I love trying out home made moisturises but haven’t found a good one to date. They all tend to leave my skin looking decidedly greasy which it’s not normally.

If I find a good recipe I’ll be sure and post it here.

I’ve been considering all the arguments presented to me in my search for meaningful information on the issue of sulfates in hair products.

I think I know why they’re needed and what damage they can do. Or at least I thought I did. I’ve found a very good explanation of the whole thing here Sulfate Free Shampoo. It really goes into detail, at a level I can understand, about why sulfates are needed, what damage they may do and any alternatives that are available.

After reading it I personally don’t intend changing to sulfate free hair products. However, your mileage may vary and I suggest you take a look and make up your own mind.

Long story short, sulfates are the ingredient that do the cleaning of your hair, if they’re in a shampoo. They could irritate a sensitive skin or cause more dandruff than you’re normally use to. BUT they don’t appear to have any serious side effects.

I’m not swapping. I like my hair clean.

I was talking with a few friends last week over a couple of cold ones and the topic turned to fashion, as it usually does.

I innocently asked why do we all try to keep up with the latest trends and was told in no uncertain terms that it was our duty as red blooded women to do so.

Aguing my case against this I told the story of a lovely little jacket I bought only last year that was now considered out of date.

One of my friends knew the one and started going on about how it would only need a little work and it would look great again.

So I asked how much it would cost and where could I get it done.

She explained that I should be quite capable of doing it myself for a few dollars.

All you need is a sewing needle, thread, a patch or two, and the willingness to get stuck in.

She relented to do it for me when asked nicely. How long is that going to take, I asked her.

About ten minutes came the reply. And how can you do it that quick? Because I’ve got a sewing machine she replied smugly. It’s got a computer in it too.

Gobsmacked, I enquired further, it’s a Brother CS6000i, she said. Infact it’s a Brother CS6000i Computerized Sewing Machine.

After another hours talking about this machine she convinced me to visit and do the work myself on her sewing machine.

This should be an eye opener and if I survive the first minute I figure I should be alright.

It’s going to take a lot longer to update the fashion on my jacket but the fun I get should be worth it.

I’ll let you all know in a week or two how it all went.

These bra accessories are simple to use and are very inexpensive. They do a great job of putting new life into your old bras, or simply make items ordered in the wrong size usable, if it’s not worth your time sending them back.

Bra strap extenders are also very useful for pregnant women who find that their size increases temporarily.

It can seem like you are continuously buying larger bra sizes when you’re pregnant. If your bras do not last the term of the pregnancy then they will certainly help in delaying the eventual purchase of more maternity bras.

For those that don’t know they simply get inserted between the eye and hook of the bra and can add up to three inches to the back of the bra.

The simplest ideas are often the best, aren’t they.

Ok just come home from a couple of days break and found out I’ve put on a couple of pounds.

Even though I did a lot of walking it seems the excesses of the evening meals wasn’t outweighed (excuse the pun) , and on went the weight.

Now this needs to come off and I’ve decided to simply up my physical work rate for a few days rather than restrict my eating habits.

So I will be going jogging, GASP.

If my friends could read this they’d say that’s a first. And it will be.

I reakon a mile to start and see how it goes.

Wish me luck I’m going to need it.

After looking for weeks for a good beginners guitar I was about to give up and just get anything from ebay or Amazon.

Then I just happened across a site with a write up of the Yamaha FG700S. It looks like this could be the guitar for me.

The review says it plays and sounds fantastic although they did mention that it could be upgraded with the addition of a bone bridge(???) and would then be suitable for anyone not just beginners.

Sounds just right for me.

I think the price is under $200 which is really at the top end of my budget but I think I'm going to take this seriously so I don't mind spending that.

It should make the learning process a whole lot easier to have a guitar with a low action and is easy to play.

I think I'll get it today.

Wish me luck.

I hope to use this site to let you know a little bit about Andrea Logan, that’s me.

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while know and I hope that my interests which include , guitar, keeping in shape and gadgets may interest some of you and we can talk about some of those things on here.

Guitar

Saying that guitar is an interest may be overstating it a little. I want to start learning it and have been on the lookout for a cheap one on ebay. No luck there yet though.

My choice would be an acoustic so practising would be easier and I wouldn’t have to carry an amplifier around with me as I would have to do with an electric one. Semi acoustic would be ok too.

I don’t have any brands in mind at the moment and I’m trying to keep an open mind on what would be best.

Keeping in Shape

I like (could be too strong a word) jogging and doing yoga. I try to stay at my target weight with regular sessions and if I put on a pound or two then I’ll simply do more until those are lost. That’s about as simple as I can make it.

Gadgets

Oh I do like small shiny things. Especially if they’ve got a real use. The new smart phones are just great for keeping in touch with all my friends and family. The calendars and scheduling they provide are just fantastic.
